There weren’t so many
planes and no one stayed
up late to stare at the stars
nor search for “Crackling Palms”
while teams tested shells in the desert
sequencing, “ launch signal burst”
likened to compounds of fireworks
rendered as reds greens blues and golds
used impetuses for heroes
being swung up from ditches
journeying to Eternity...
